Evergreen Lake House in Evergreen Colorado is just flat out beautiful all seasons of the year, but the summer especially. People are kayaking, fishing along the lake with hiking trails around and there is just so much energy surrounding the area. Kate & Jared chose Evergreen Lake House because of their love for the mountains and it was close enough to Denver for family to easily travel to. Which is something to keep in mind when family and friends are coming from far distances.
Kate had family that traveled in from Hawaii and her aunt even made Jared’s Lei, Kate’s flower crown & both sets of parents leis which all come from Hawaii! Both were so gorgeous and I was stoked to have them there to photograph such gorgeous pieces. It was such a pretty bonus for their wedding day.
We started out near downtown for some photos at a walkway bridge over the South Platte River. Just before some heavy rain rolled it we got plenty of variety for their city portraits. Thankfully the rain didn’t hit Evergreen and we had some nice warm temps with great cloud coverage for the rest of their day.
My all time favorite part of Kate & Jared’s wedding was their Hawaiian ceremony aspects. Sometimes no matter how many questions you ask couples prior to their wedding day sometimes the little things are forgotten about the normal things. When I saw the leis and flower crown I got so excited! Such a unique part of their day that felt so incredibly special to everyone attending.
Kate & Jared have such a happy and strong relationship. Jared travels a lot for work and sometimes that’s really tough in a relationship. My husband travels a lot too, so when you hear someone else goes through that, it’s hard not feel a particular emotion for another in the same situation. It takes a strong person to have a lot of lonely at home times, but at then end of the day the bond of your significant other along with friends & family gets you through that with love and support.
Congrats Kate & Jared. It was a fun adventure for our engagement photos at St. Mary’s Glacier and getting know you through the months, in addition to be a part of such a gorgeous wedding day! I wish you all best and so much love!
