Genoa Family Barn – Megan + Ty
It’s not often I get to shoot a wedding in the plains or anywhere east of the Denver, but when Megan and Ty showed me the kick ass barn location with a sunflower field across the road, I was pumped! I’ve never seen a sunflower close up, those things are huge! The sunflowers had already dropped by the time their wedding day came, but it was still killer! The thistles that covered the ground almost seemed like they were trying to protect the sunflowers. Kind of like a princes in a castle.
The backyard feel for Megan & Ty’s wedding was so cozy and relaxing. They made several pieces by hand to show their love for travel including wooden propellers and a luggage tag backdrop of the world. These two are big travelers so a travel theme fit them absolutely perfect.
My favorite moments, were the first look between Megan and Ty and Megan and her dad. None of us could hold it together, they were really sweet special moments that will truly never be forgotten and now can be lived through the photos. And of course, personally written vows during the ceremony rank #1. The words you just work so hard to find, then end up coming to you so completely and instantly just days before the wedding.
Cheers Megan & Ty! Enjoy all the new adventures as husband and wife!
