Rocky Mountain National Park Elopement Photographer – Megan + Bobby
Elopements = all the kick butt words you can think of, especially with this crew (and deer). I totally scared this sweet little deer from a slumber underneath the deck in their Airbnb. I felt, bad, but then he had this cute little face so I shot a couple photos of him giving me the stink eye. Ha ha! Anyway…
Megan and Bobby got ready at a pretty house in Estes Park near Rocky Mountain National Park. Megan got her hair & makeup done by Megan at Estes Park Bridal Company. Simple, beautiful, and enhanced all her pretty features.
After our first look at their Airbnb, we headed out to Rocky Mountain National Park for their ceremony at Bear Lake. It was a bright & sunny day, as usual, in the Rockies. It’s always great in springtime here you get to welcome nice warm temps in anticipation for summer. Honestly the sun made for some really fun and great moody photos. I’ll never complain about the sun…ever.
After their ceremony, we got a few cute family photos, then it was off on a fun adventure within the park. First we stopped along a really a rushing river to get some water photos and on top of some pretty sweet rocks. Our next stop was obviously Trail Ridge Road. 🙂 Along the way we found an open field for a quick hipster photo by having them look in opposite way. I just can’t help myself.
As we made our way to Ute Trailhead, we saw so many content wildlife. Every time I see a chipmunk, I stop in my tracks and look in awe. Nature is just incredible. As always, Ute Trailhead was pretty and sunny as well as windy and worth every minute we made our trek up there. Some of my favorite photos up top were the veil photos, our efforts weren’t small, but they were worth it!
It was hard to make our drive back down the mountain, but when Megan and Bobby told me Sugar Pine Catering was catering their dinner, I almost fell over. Guys, their food is incredible, like some of the best catering I’ve ever had. I was so excited to be able to sit down with Megan & Bobby’s family for dinner to get to know them a little more. I may have laughed too much at their jokes and wanted to hide in one of their suitcases to hang out with them back in the Midwest.
It really is such a humbling honor to be able to spend time with families after weddings or elopements. Making new friendships and getting to know people for who they really are has quickly become one of my favorite things in life. That’s why getting to photograph weddings has been the best job on the planet. I have never wanted to do anything more in my life than this.
Thank you so much for your warm welcome and making me feel a part of your family for your wedding day Megan + Bobby! I truly can’t thank you enough for giving me the honor to be a part of such a gorgeous wedding day! Congrats!!
